I created a new blog which you might want to check out. It’s at http://chococherrycoco.blogspot.com. I may be posting more regularly at this new blog but not to worry, I’ll still keep this blog updated
THE POWER TO CHANGE THE WORLD
All the training in the world will
provide only limited success if you don’t turn your people loose to do
the job. The way to do that is to give them responsibility, authority and
accountability.
For some people, responsibility is the easiest
to give. But what is difficult for some leaders is allowing their people to
keep the responsibility after it’s been given. Poor managers want to
control every detail of their people’s work. When that happens, the
potential leaders who work for them become frustrated and don’t develop.
Rather than desiring more responsibility, they become indifferent or avoid
responsibility altogether.
With responsibility must go authority. Winston
Churchill said in an address, “I am your servant. You have the right to
dismiss me when you please. What you have no right to do is ask me to bear
responsibility without the power of action.”
Once responsibility and authority have been
given to people, they become empowered to make things happen. But we also have
to be sure that they are making the right things to happen. That’s where
accountability comes into the picture.

Tagged by Tec, so here goes …
Once tagged by this entry, write a blog entry of some kind with six
random facts about yourself. In the end of it, pick six of your friends
and tag them! (No tag backs.) This explanation must be included, of
course.
1. Popcorn and movies are my destressors.
2. I like apple juice and the scent of apples but I don’t like the fruit itself.
3. I drive an automatic.
4. I love watching cooking shows but I don’t cook.
5. I’ve never been to Baguio or Boracay.
6. I’m a morning person.
Let’s see who I can tag. Pin, Cel, Dave, Mello, Moksha and GP.
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog along with these instructions.
5.
Don’t you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your
closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is
closest.
6. Tag three people.
Taken from "Goldie: A Lotus Grows in the Mud" by Goldie Hawn:
They are half giddy and half hysterical.
"Did you see the moon?" asks Anita.
"I know," says Susan.
It doesn’t make much sense and it doesn’t have to. It’s fun, it’s a game!
I’m tagging Sean, Jamie and Anthony L!
I’ve been tagged by Gezelle so here are my 8 weird habits:
1. I write my tasks and to-do’s in three separate planners. I’m not OC. I just repeat to myself, to myself, to myself.
2. I read the newspaper starting with the supplement sections (lifestyle, entertainment, etc) first and the News section last. Also I read from back to front; the movie guide, classified ads and even obituaries are more interesting than the headlines don’t you think?
3. When I read a book, I start from the cover page, literally. So I also get to read the copyright page, foreword and dedication.
4. I collect journal notebooks but I don’t write on them. My handwriting is not pretty so it will just ruin those fancy notebooks. I will just write my thoughts on this blog and keep those journal for smelling purposes. Yes, I like smelling paper. And when I was a child, I sometimes eat them too.
5. I have two Jolina dolls. I don’t have a habit of collecting them. I just have a habit of having weird friends.
6. I stare at billboards. This becomes a problem when I’m driving along EDSA or Commonwealth because I take my eyes off the road just to have a glimpse of the latest billboard ads. They’re getting very creative nowadays, even going 3D. Kinda remind me of those old COD Christmas displays.
7. I find comfort in the comfort room. You know how people turn to food when they get stressed? Me, I go to the comfort room and just sit there. Oh wait, I also eat when I get stressed. I eat, then I go to the comfort room.
8. I look like Herbert Bautista. Again this is not a habit. I just happen to look like him. Really.
There you have it folks! Spread the weirdness around. I tag Caro, Jill, Minmin, Karen F., Rhea, Ronan, Naz and Tec.
Well I can’t tell you where I’m going, I’m not sure of where I’ve been
But I know I must keep travelin’ till my road comes to an end
I’m out here on my journey, trying to make the most of it
I’m a puzzle, I must figure out where all my pieces fit
Like a poor wayfaring stranger that they speak about in song
I’m just a weary pilgrim trying to find what feels like home
Where that is no one can tell me, am I doomed to ever roam
I’m just travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, I’m just travelin’ on
Questions I have many, answers but a few
But we’re here to learn, the spirit burns, to know the greater truth
We’ve all been crucified and they nailed Jesus to the tree
And when I’m born again, you’re gonna see a change in me
God made me for a reason and nothing is in vain
Redemption comes in many shapes with many kinds of pain
Oh sweet Jesus if you’re listening, keep me ever close to you
As I’m stumblin’, tumblin’, wonderin’, as I’m travelin’ thru
I’m just travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, I’m just travelin’ thru
I’m just travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, I’m just travelin’ thru
Oh sometimes the road is rugged, and it’s hard to travel on
But holdin’ to each other, we don’t have to walk alone
When everything is broken, we can mend it if we try
We can make a world of difference, if we want to we can fly
Goodbye little children, goodnight you handsome men
Farewell to all you ladies and to all who knew me when
And I hope I’ll see you down the road, you meant more than I knew
As I was travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, travelin’ thru
I’m just travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, I’m just travelin’
Drifting like a floating boat and roaming like the wind
Oh give me some direction Lord, let me lean on you
As I’m travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, thru
I’m just travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, I’m just travelin’ thru
I’m just travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, I’m just travelin’ thru
Like the poor wayfaring stranger that they speak about in song
I’m just a weary pilgrim trying to find my own way home
Oh sweet Jesus if you’re out there, keep me ever close to you
As I’m travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, as I’m travelin’ thru
- sung by Dolly Parton, for the movie Transamerica
Such has been my state for a long time now. Getting bored and tired actually. But there’s really nothing I can do about it. Life goes on and so must we. Or to put it in Winston Churchill’s words, "If you’re going through hell, keep going."
I can’t believe I’ve finally begun to pursue my hobbies. I just finished putting together my postcards and I’m pretty proud of the results (Thanks Gezie for the albums!).
My next project is my stamp collection. I started this when I was in grade school but this would be the first time that I bought a stamp album for it. I can’t wait to see finished product once I’m done arranging my stamps
I also want to try rubber stamping, but I’ll stick with this one for a while
I’m embarking on a new adventure — collecting postcards. I have my father’s postcards to start with. He sent them when he was still faring the seas; he’d sent a postcard from every port they stopped and we’d always look forward to recieving them. Someday, I’d like to visit the places he’s been, even take a picture of the exact building, street or historical spot depicted on the postcards. It will be a nostalgic journey for me for sure.
I already asked my friend who’s in the States to buy a postcard album for me because I couldn’t find one here. Meanwhile, you can send me postcards from wherever you are so I can add them to my collection. Send me a message if you’d like to know my mailing address
